Structured TEACCHing
All classes at the Non-public Primary School ‘Structured TEACCHing’ in Ciechanow are conducted in accordance with the national core curriculum applicable in Poland as defined by the Ministry of National Education (including, among others, the Act of September 7, 1991, on the Education System: Journal of Laws of 2017, item 2198, as amended; the Act of December 14, 2016 – Education Law: Journal of Laws of 2017, item 59, as amended; the Regulation of the Ministry of National Education of August 11, 2017, on the organization of the school year: Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1603; the Regulation of the Minister of National Education and Sport of December 31, 2002, on health and safety in public and non-public schools and institutions: Journal of Laws of 2003, No. 6, item 69, as amended; the Regulation of the Ministry of National Education of August 29, 2014, on the manner of keeping documentation of the course of teaching, educational and care activities by public kindergartens, schools, and institutions, and the types of such documentation: Journal of Laws of 2014, item 1170; the Regulation of the Ministry of National Education of March 28, 2017, on framework timetables for public schools: Journal of Laws of 2017, item 703).
Who is our school for?
The Non-Public Primary School Structured TEACCHing is an educational institution operating free of charge. In practice, this means that both education and therapy (according to the proprietary Structured TEACCHing program) are financed through the educational subsidies provided by the municipal authorities for students with a currently binding statement of special educational needs due to autism/ASD/Asperger’s or a disability combined with the autism spectrum. The school also provides free teaching and upbringing for students with a statement of special educational needs due to social maladjustment or risk of social maladjustment. We invite children in the entire Ciechanów-district, regardless of their current place of residence. The school charges no enrolment fee. All educational activities at the Non-Public Primary School Structured TEACCHing are carried out in accordance with the current Polish MEN core curriculum and the proprietary Structured TEACCHing program: https://structuredteacching.pl. Therefore, we are committed to providing children and youth with ASD/Asperger’s with the best education and therapy environment, including as follows: a sense of stability and predictability; appropriate sensory comfort (SI); a visual channel for information transfer (AAC); additional support in the process of acquiring knowledge – in line with the cognitive preferences of neurodivergent individuals. Our approach is based on proven methods and techniques supporting education, such as the TEACCH MODEL/SCERTS MODEL, combined with the latest achievements in neurodidactics (e.g., multimedia board in every classroom, 3D printer, multimedia therapeutic packages including virtual nature labs, speech therapy, visual-auditory perception, socio-emotional competencies).
